Navdurga Stotra is a Devi Stotra and it is in Sanskrit. There are nine auspicious Devi names which are very famous and each and every Devi is the destroyer of a very dangerous demon. Reciting this stotra makes us fearless and sinless. Navadurga stotram is a prayer to nine forms of Goddess Durga (Navadurga) worshipped in Navratri Durga Puja.
This strotra is dedicated at the lotus feet of Goddess Durga. The word “Durga” in Sanskrit means a fort, or a place which is difficult to overrun. Another meaning of “Durga” is “Durgatinashini,” which literally translates into “the one who eliminates sufferings.” Shri Durgapaduddhar Stotram is in Sanskrit. It is from Siddheshwari tantra and creation of UmaMaheshwar Samvada. Maheshwar (God Shankar) is telling this stotra to Uma (Goddess Parvati). However it is told for the benefit of all the people suffering from many difficulties, troubles, fear from enemies and adversaries in the life. The devotee whoso ever recites this stotra in the evening 3 times a day or one time in a day or even one stanza of this stotra with devotion, concentration and faith will become free from all troubles, difficulties and receive peace, happiness and everything desired is assured by God Maheshwar.
Durga Apad Uddharaka Stotram : दुर्गा आपदुद्धाराष्टकम्
Durga Stuti is chanted by the devotees at the time of praying to the Goddess to invoke her blessings. It is a way to please the Goddess and invite her help and blessing in times of distress. The meaning of Durga Stuti is elaborated in the following paragraphs.
In Durga Stuti, Goddess is described as the power behind Shiva, who grants wishes to her devotees and is also the creator, preserver as well as the destroyer of all. Devotees believe that submitting themselves to the Goddess is a form of meditation that makes the mind ‘holy’ just as the body becomes holy by bathing in the Holy River Ganges.
